5 out of 5 stars The best instruction book for beginners. Reviewer: A reader from New York State April 6, 1999 This is the book I recommend in my glass bead making classes. There are pictures with each set of instructions so you can see, as well as read, how to do it. It covers all of the techniques necessary to make the most simple to the most complex glass bead imaginable. Definitely a "must have" book for the new (and not so new) bead maker.
5 out of 5 starsExcellent book for people who have never worked with glass Reviewer: A reader from Chapel Hill, NC March 26, 1999 Cindy Jenkins has done a wonderful job with this book. It teaches you step by step from the very beginning. This book will show you what you need and where you need to get it. It will then show you how to make great beads. Numerous techniques are very well illustrated. I started out with no knoweledge of glass whatsoever, but now with the help of Cindy's book, I can make beautiful glass beads. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to get their foot in the door to the world of glass.
5 out of 5 starsA must have for your lampwork library! Reviewer: madcatbead@aol.com from Maine, USA October 11, 1998 My hat off to Cindy Jenkins for making a lampworking book with information that easily can be understood by the novice lampworker as well as a reference book for the more experienced. The information, tips, and step by step photos indeed give you what you need to explore the world of lampworking with ease, understanding and confidence. I would recommend this book to anyone who desides to enter the world of glass.....
5 out of 5 starsA beautiful and thorough reference Reviewer: njgraver@ameritech.net from Chicago, Illinois April 10, 1998 Cindy Jenkin's book is truly a work of art as well as a detailed instruction guide. I was drawn to the book by it's exquisite photographs and inspired to try lampwork by the thorough explanations and instructions. I was fortunate to take a beadmaking class with Cindy and her book is a wonderful reference guide! It's so beautiful that I enhance the decor in my home by using it as a "coffee-table" book.

5 out of 5 starsBeautiful, fun, informative....an excellent value!!! Reviewer: LMarkow@aol.com from St. Louis, MO February 7, 1998 I'm ready to try my hand (both hands actually) at bead making thanks to Ms. Jenkins cleanly written and non-technical text. The photographs are beautiful and inspiring. This book is a terrific value!
5 out of 5 starsGood Teach-yourself Book Reviewer: CraftyUK@aol.com from London, England January 8, 1998 This is an excellent book for teaching yourself to make glass beads. I'm learning, using the equipment at a local college where the teacher knows about glass, and this book is giving me the help I need. My only criticism is that it does not really explain the kind of problems you can have with glass work - I'd have liked a bit on common errors and what to do about them. It seems to assume that everything you do will work the first time!
5 out of 5 starsA perfect combination of do-it-yourself narrative and photos Reviewer: debakins@juno.com from u.s.a. December 9, 1997 Cindy Jenkins truly appeals to the bead addict in this perfect combination of easily-readable instructions and high quality photography. After the sixth time through the book in as many days, I signed up for a lampworking class and utilized all her recommendations. Ms. Jenkins' writing style motivates the reader to attempt each technique with the confidence that there are no mistakes...just another "work of art" in the making and opportunity to learn!
