BEADS & BEADMAKING:
More Than You Ever Wanted to Know About Glass Beadmaking
James Kervin Spiral-bound 4 edition

Paperback, large format Glass Beadmaking 5 out of 5 stars A must for someone starting out in glass beadmaking Reviewer: dajackson@earthlink.net from Charlotte, NC December 22, 1999 This book is invaluable for anyone interested in glass beadmaking, from beginner to experienced beadmaker. It goes from safety and studio setup to techniques used in creating various glass beads both using soft and hard glass. It highligths some methods for pulling cane and making murrini. It is an all around excellent instructional book, but definately not a coffee table book. Nothing can take the place of hands on instruction and guidance, but with this book, a video or two , common sense and some patience anyone can make beautiful glass beads. Get this book and give it a try. A thorough reference guide for glass bead makers! Reviewer: A reader from Atlanta, GA USA June 15, 1999 What an exceptional book! I did research on safety and ventilation regarding lampworked glass beads for almost an entire year before I set up my studio. This book is the BEST that I have found on the subject of ventilation to prevent toxicity, setting up the studio and all the various components involved in making glass beads. Mr. Kervin also included information about hazardous fuels, storage procedures, how to maintain your oxygen and propane tanks, as well as kiln maintenance. I HIGHLY recommend this handy reference guide! Everything (and more) than I wanted to know is right at my fingertips! There is nothing negative about the book, not one single thing!!
