Caroll Michels / Paperback 304 pages / Published 1997
(Usually ships within 24 hours) The fourth revised and expanded edition of this classic handbook puts to rest the myth of the
starving artist. It examines the enormous impact the Internet has had on the art world and looks at
the burgeoning field of artists' career consultants and arts administrators. A completely updated
Appendix lists artists' colonies, grant sources, internships, and insurance and legal services
available nationwide.
Just because you're an artist doesn't mean you have to be broke. Caroll Michels offers a wealth of
insider's advice on getting your work exhibited, preparing resumes and presentations, public
relations and advertising, applying for grants and awards, legal issues, and more. Includes a fully
updated resource guide.
Good, but not for everyone

This book is very useful for loners, but I would recommend sites like Vaultreports.com that help
people find jobs at major companies that can use the talents of professional artists.
Useful & entertaining

An excellent and readable reference book on a practical way to make a living in the impractical
world of art.
